"Returning flight from Gold Coast to…"
Returning flight from Gold Coast to Sydney tomorrow. They have put us in a Boeing 747 which leaves the international airport and arrives at the Sydney international airport. I know we could have paid a little more attention to the details of the returning flight but we just don’t understand since we are flying domestically and just over an hour flight…. This will cost us more money regarding parking, Ubers/taxis and the inconvience of having to be at the airport two hours before our flight leaves.. We called customer service and they were not helpful at all and shoved the blame on us when it does not make any sense as to why a domestic flight is leaving and arriving in the international airports of both the Gold Coast and Sydney. This will be a flight on the 14th of May 2023.

"Couldn’t put minus star"
Couldn’t put minus star. Worst flight ever!!! Honolulu to Sydney sitting between two large (lovely ladies) who didn’t expect a middle passenger. Flight full ok! But I paid $1294.72 for one way included extra leg room, baggage, food entertainment etc received none and flight attendants not aware, I am 76 plus travel a lot. Not Jetstar again!!! Was treated rudely (plane is full and nothing guaranteed). Don’t take my money if you do not provide what I pay for!!!

"Jetstar and Expedia ‘not my problem’"
I always book my flights through Expedia and on this occasion I found flights to the value of c$315 with Jetstar. Unfortunately the Expedia site said it had problems processing the sale and said to try later. That doesn’t seem to bother Jetstar as they processed the flights and took my money anyway even though to this day my Expedia account says the sale never took place?! The following day my plans changed and I didn’t need the flights but not to worry as Expedia said the purchase never happened I’ll just get my money back and book different flights… two weeks later and both Jetstar and Expedia claim it’s not their problem or policy and were happy to cancel the flights (how nice so they can sell those seats to someone else again) but to date no refund of any money! I will never use them again.

"Pay the extra and fly Qantas"
I think when you book you should be mindful that this is a budget airline so you should not have any expectations that the customer service, timelines and the provision of information will be of an acceptable standard. Once bitten twice shy, will never fly Jetstar again, following an utterly disappointing experience!

"WORST AIRLINE EVER!!"
WORST AIRLINE EVER!!!
DO NOT fly with this airline!!. the staff are atrocious! Our flight got cancelled while we were already seated in the plane waiting to depart. The staff claimed to have booked us a hotel but when we got to the hotel, they informed us that they never booked. We were given a replacement flight the next day (24 hours later) and only one meal voucher! I could write a long essay of the awful treatment we got from the staff but I will choose not to. Just please save yourself the stress and headache and fly with another airline!

"Utterly disgusted at Jetstar for…"
Utterly disgusted at Jetstar for charging us $65 on boarding for our formula & baby bottles for our infant because it was just over 7kg. Absolutely ridiculous esp when capsule/high chairs etc are included for free and we didn't bring those!!
The heartless display from staff was totally unjustified and unreasonable 😡 Parents Be Warned: We won't travel with Jetstar as a family again (as if travelling with babies isn't hard enough already!)
Don’t travel with this heartless company. Save yourself trouble and hidden costs, look at the other airlines instead. They deserve Zero stars!

"Cancelled flight with international connections"
Jetstar cancelled Melb-Singapore flight 24 hours before departure, that connected onwards to IST-BUD with zero assistance or options given. Approx 40 phone calls total over about 3 days to both Jetstar and Turkish Airlines, who could not even see the cancelled Jetstar flight! Was forced to eventually book and pay for flights MEL-SIN with Thai Airways. Arrived home 4 days late. Absolutely the worst experience in more than 35 years of flying.

"Parents please read"
I would like to share our recent experience with JetStar airlines and advise you to reconsider traveling with them, especially if you are traveling with young children.

Our flight was delayed in Phuket for 40 hours with 6 time changes, which caused a lot of inconvenience and frustration. We were removed from the plane at 11:30 pm and were taken to a hotel provided by JetStar. We had a 5-month-old baby with us, but unfortunately when we arrived around 1:30am, the hotel did not have any safe sleeping conditions for our child, including a cot.

Despite repeated requests, we were denied any proper sleeping arrangements for our child, which made our situation even more difficult. We were unable to book another hotel as we were told that our flight would be delayed for only 8 hours, which kept getting pushed due to issues that were entirely in JetStar's control.

Moreover, we found that the information provided on the JetStar website or at the airport was entirely contradictory to the information we received when we spoke to someone online. This caused even more confusion and frustration.

We strongly advise parents against traveling with JetStar, especially if you are traveling with young children. Our experience was nothing short of a nightmare, and we would not want any other family to go through the same ordeal.

"An utter disgrace to the airline industry"
In hindsight, I wish I had done some research before booking a return flight from Europe to Australia with Qantas. This would have revealed that the airline that would fly the feeder for the intercontinental connection would be one I should have avoided at any cost.

To summarize my experience:

1. 12 hours before scheduled departure, Jetstar cancels the feeder for the intercontinental flight, causing a total delay of 22 hours at the final destination as well as an additional night at a Sydney airport hotel. The circumstances of the cancellation overwhelmingly indicate a commercial decision.
2. Jetstar operates a website that claims to reimburse expenses for accommodation and meals within certain limits, if travel is disrupted by a cancellation within Jetstar’s control away from the customer’s home airport (in my case, somewhere in Europe).
3. The expenses I claimed were within the limits publicly stated.
4. The claim was flat out denied without even bothering to provide an explanation.

Given the data of this case, one is tempted to suspect that there is an unpublished Jetstar policy to indiscriminately deny any claim coming from a foreign national, regardless of it’s individual merits.

Obviously, the people working for Jetstar have few alternatives on the job market. They should be aware of the fact that businesses screwing their customers are very likely to screw their employees as well.

Even if I will be visiting Australia some day in the future, I will never even consider flying Jetstar (hopefully, they are bankrupt by then) or their parent company Qantas (inflight entertainment is clearly inferior to their competitors anyway) again. Reading some other reviews, I might consider myself lucky as things could have been far worse.

Regarding air travel, Australia is clearly missing even basic consumer protection regulation. If such an incident happened in the EU, I would take the airline to court in a minute. Whether the publicly stated reimbursement policy constitutes false advertising under Australian law, is a question others are more qualified to assess than I am. As a layman customer however, I feel defrauded.

"Jetstar is the most useless and…"
Jetstar is the most useless and heartless company I’ve dealt with. Cannot sort out simple issues and then issue me a credit for $1.51 instead of $1570. Then to fix it, they want to charge me $40 per passenger to do through their call centre. Absolutely disgusting

"I flew for work from Melbourne to…"
I flew for work from Melbourne to Sydney during the 'high season,' and our company was forced to pay an exorbitant price of $1,000 for the return ticket to Sydney, even though it was in economy class with no additional baggage allowance and/or meals.
My usual baggage weighed less - around 10 kilograms out of the allowed 24, but my carry-on luggage was slightly over the allowed weight limit of 7 kilograms - around 8.5. This was due to my camera and laptop, which I naturally kept in my carry-on.
Despite the already sky-high ticket price and global aviation norms where laptops and cameras are not included in the carry-on weight limit, they still made me pay about $60 for the excess weight. The company does not care about its image and tries to make money wherever possible.
This was my first negative experience with this company (previously everything was relatively good), but I think it will be my last as I will avoid flying with them as much as possible.

"Almost always last minute flight cancellation!!!!"
Absolutely ridiculous airline, terrible customer service. My father’s flight got cancelled last minute without providing proper replacement flight. He’s in his 70s and had to wait from morning till 7:45pm at the airport for another flight. Asked them if they could accommodate him in flights closer to the one that got cancelled since he had no where else to go and had trouble communicating but they only offered the evening flight. Had terrible experience with jetstar. Anyone I know has had bad experience with jetstar. If I could, I would’ve given no star at all. 👎🏻

"Not a real airline"
They cancelled our flights, meaning we've lost money on hotel bookings, and missed a wedding. What a waste of space pretend airline this is. If anyone from Jetstar is reading this, do the world a favour and end yourself.
